challenge

Carving a path

Individuals interested in raising their voices to the issues of fracking did not have a logical path to absorb the abundance of information, without road signs towards actionable steps they might take to be heard.

problems

solved

Cohesion

Users will not have a good experience unless the design of an app is both intuitive and cohesive. Lacking these vital characteristics in the original website, it was inevitable that users did not stay engaged.

The revisions provide all-important cohesion via clean, uncluttered layouts, well-organized screens, and highly legible labeling with a common thread of connection through color and imagery.

All paths lead to action

Once off the home page, users found themselves at a dead end with no calls to actions offered, leaving them stymied as to any potential next steps.

To solve this, a multitude of buttons and hoverable images now lead the user to more information and actionable opportunities.

outcome

traffic & awareness

After re-launching the updated Sempra Fracks Our Future site, San Diego 350 promoted it in their new campaign and over social media. The site has gotten more traffic and has provided more awareness for the non-profit organization's campaign efforts.

finale

Reorganized

Initially, it was impossible to take in the abundance of information due to poor content organization. Content is now 'chunked' into digestible bites.

Responsive design

Adding responsiveness to the many devices made the information more readily available to a world on the move.
